MY JOURNEY

I started as a wildland firefighter on an initial-attack engine crew, and coached high school & small-college football on my way to earning national Journalism recognition as a sportswriter. That foundation of meeting unforgiving deadlines while crafting compelling narratives under pressure taught me to find authentic voices in high-stakes moments and craft storytelling with clarity and impact.

From there, I finished my MS in Strategic Marketing Communication with an emphasis on brand social media and digital content strategy. For me, the best brand work emerges from the same discipline that shapes all great storytelling: Start with audience, find the truth in the data, and build narratives that create connection.

MY VALUES

  • Sustainability: My wildland firefighting background taught me to leave things better than I found them, a principle I carry into every project. In 2017, I designed urban rooftop farming materials from Nike Grind for a sustainability innovation competition.

  • Lifelong Learning: I'm fascinated with understanding how things work. Current fixations include contemporary fiction, design thinking, data science, and farmers market cooking.

  • Collaboration: I thrive on teams of top-shelf creatives combining diverse skills to achieve more than any of us could alone. Potential is unleashed by building something bigger than yourself. Don't be a hater, be a celebrator.
